An Egyptian athlete and actor, he was born in the Al-Darb Al-Ahmar neighborhood in Cairo. He founded the Egyptian Federation for Bodybuilding in 1972 and served as the president of the federation for sporadic periods until 1993. He participated in the cinema for once in the movie (Ashour Qalb al-Assad) in 1961.
He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University in 1961, obtained a Bachelor of Military Science after joining the Corps of Engineers in the Armed Forces.
